Yay for Second Semester! Happy New Year.

Welcome to Room 4 -- Sixth and Seventh Grade English and Sixth Grade English Language Development.

Please ask your child to show you his or her Google Classroom information. I will be posting assignments on those pages. Also, please check your child's Jupiter Grades at least once a week. Thank you!

Sixth graders should be reading Bud, Not Buddy at home for homework. Please check that your child is reading the book. It's a great book, you might enjoy it too.

Book Reports on October 31

Book Reports and art projects are due on October 31. This is a fun way to end the month, will children bringing in art projects that illustrate their books. Please be sure to check for the directions in Schoology.

Book order time again

Hello all,
I have six book order flyers out for our students. There is the usual connection of fiction and non-fiction books, and a flyer that is all about historical figures. This is your child's chance to buy books that connect to our Global Awareness theme, looking at how people made a difference in the lives of others, and how they changed the world. Please ask your child about this flyer. Book orders are due to me by January 20, 2017.

Great semester

We have had a great semester. Thanks to all parents who have supported the classroom through DonorsChoose or other activities. Please check out the Westside News, which is put together by my second period class. There is all kinds of information about our school's activities.

Book reports due October 31, 2016

Students should be working on their book reports, which are due October 31, 2016. Please remember to bring an art project that connects to your book.

Yay! Thank you parents!

Thank you to all the parents who have supported Donors Choose. I now have 30 functional Chromebook computers, along with five robots and four Samsung tablets. We are working on getting the robots and the tablets to communicate so that we can use them in class. We are using the Chromebooks in class for writing as well as for programming.
